THE SCIENCE
Osteo-Rx™ is a Hi-Tech Healthcare supplement that contains microcrystalline hydroxyapatite concentrate (MCHC). This special calcium contains a 2:1 ratio of calcium to phosphorus, which is in the exact ratio formed by the body. Calcium hydroxyapatite also contains trace minerals, delicate organic factors, matrix proteins, glycosaminoglycans, and the full spectrum of minerals that naturally comprise healthy bone. Osteo-Rx™ also incorporates ipriflavone, which is a synthetic isoflavone that slows down the action of osteoclasts (bone-eroding cells), allowing the osteoblasts (bone-building cells) to build up bone mass. An osteoclast bone cell removes bone tissue by removing its mineralized matrix through a process called bone resorption. Osteo-Rx™ inhibits osteoclast activity to reduce bone resorption and tip the balance in favor of a net gain in bone mass. Osteo-Rx™ also includes OsteoBlast-4™, which is a bone and joint matrix that is proprietary to Hi-Tech and is a fundamental component of the success of this extraordinary bone product. OsteoBlast-4™ was developed as a molecularly optimized (low molecular weight) ingredient that could easily be absorbed by the body and contains a naturally-occurring matrix of bioavailable sodium hyaluronic acid (10%), chondroitin sulfate (40%), a natural hydrolyzed type II collagen (10%), and 99% pure crystalline glucosamine hydrochloride (40%).
